“
Club’s vision is to create a diversified, vibrant and financially secure Club that is truly at the heart of the community.
Just a few years ago, the Club was on its knees with just a couple of hundred members, out of money, in a rundown clubhouse they could no longer afford to maintain and staring down the barrel of closing the doors for good after nearly 60 Years as a pillar of the Byford Community. The decision of the Clubs Members to overhaul and rejuvenate the club and give it a fresh start has seen the Club bounce back from almost certain closure to now, 2.5 years after completion of the project and weighing in at 18,500 New members, an extremely positive financial position and now the 2019 Club of The Year (Large) is testament to the Club’s vision is to create a diversified, vibrant and financially secure Club that is truly at the heart of the community. A place where families and friends meet, socialise and support one another. And importantly, a place that helps build a better community.
The Byford & Districts Country Club also took out the Clubs in the Community
Special Projects (Large) for its 2018 Christmas Appeal that included a free Christmas Luncheon for some of the most deserving and vulnerable community members who were struggling to be able to enjoy a Christmas lunch, its annual Christmas present drive for the communities less fortunate, which was supported with several hundred gifts, as well as its campaign to collect Handbags filled with personal care and sanitary items to provide women who were fleeing domestic violence with some of life’s necessities; alongside a host of other initiatives.
Renowned for creating unique and exciting member events, to complete the trio of wins the Club also took Best Club Members Event (Large). Chefs Anthony Wall and Avinash Ramjuttun were also named finalists in the WA’s Club Chef Challenge
“We’re absolutely stoked to have taken out these 3 incredible awards” the club’s Chairperson, Shana McKay said. “The Club has been absolutely embraced by everyone who visits, and we thank all of our members and the residents of the Serpentine Jarrahdale community for their continued support over this great journey.
