Just 35 Days ago long-time member Megan Caruana walked out of the Club with her pockets full. $5,300 Full. But Megan isn’t the only member who’s left the Club with $5,300 after a Friday Night. Leigh Jones met the same fate less than a year earlier when he snared himself $5,300 after selecting card number 34.
Starting at a massive $5,000 just 4 weeks ago, The Byford & Districts Country Clubs popular Friday Night Chase the Ace was set to rocket well above it’s previous record of $5,300….
That was, of course, until Joanne Lockyer strolled in for a Friday Afternoon at the Club with Family. As 7pm rolls around, the clubs trusty MC (and President) is once again on the Mic and before long Joanne’s in the hot seat. Only 3 Cards had been picked off the Board so far.
49 Cards remain. ‘My Dad says 29, and thats my Birthday – so 29 it is’ she says. As the crowd goes silent the 4th Card to be picked from the board is revealed.

ACE OF SPADES! She’s Won $5,200.
Joanne Lockyer, and family, with her winning cheque
Speaking after her win, an excited Joanne said she intended to split it evenly with her family, which will absolutely make all their Christmas’s.
The Clubs chief executive, Mark O’Neill, said it was phenomenal that 2 local families have had their Christmas’s brightened with wins over $5,000 each just 35 days apart. ‘That’s the unknown with Chase the Ace. What we’ve seen in the 3 series run so far at the Clubs new location is that the Ace can be turned at anytime, it can happen on the second last card or the fourth card” He said.
“Its a lot of luck and picking the right number, but essentially you have to be here for a chance to win. We’re always working on our next promotion or our next event for our members. We’ll have some exciting news in the coming days for whats next on the Cards” Mr O’Neill said.
With the 3 Jackpots drawn to date as well as the Joker Wild Cards that featured an instant $1,000 cash during series 2, the total Chase the Ace prize pool in less than 2 Years stands at a huge $19,800. Are you next?
