In March 2019 the Byford Bowling Club introduced an exciting participation event/program offering children the opportunity to engage in the game of bowls, learn new skills and have fun!
Bowls as a sport provides an opportunity for junior participants to partake physically and develop a wide variety of skills including; social skills, leadership, team work, concentration and strong ethics and values. The junior participants are introduced to the game format and competition rules as well as receiving one on one coaching from one of our fully qualified bowls coaches.

All that is old is now new, at least to Gen Y who are taking to the greens to take on the jack!
Fun is the major motivating factor for juniors to play sport, there are weekly competitions held at the end of each lesson with plenty of prizes to be won. The programme is held once a week on a Friday afternoon at 5pm, the cost is $2.50 and includes a sausage sizzle at the end of the lesson. All children under the age of 18 are welcome to attend.
The Byford Bowling Club hopes to encourage long term involvement and expand creating a junior bowling team, where the young adults can participate in competitions with other clubs. The Bowls Club also offers coaching and games for school classes during school hours. These can be a one off, as a reward excursion, or up to a four-week structured coaching booking.
