Christmas Menu 2019

It’s beginning to look a bit like Christmas…. Well maybe not so much. But, believe it or not; Christmas is just around the corner.

As always the BDCC will be delivering the goods with the best value-for-money Christmas luncheon offering in the region. Whether its a work gathering, social catch up or just an early Family Christmas Lunch, Throughout the entire month of December members of the BDCC and their guests can enjoy a traditional Christmas Luncheon for $25.90 per person.

Whilst the Club closes on Christmas Day, to allow it’s hardworking staff time to enjoy the occasion with family and friends as well, BDCC Executive Chef Anthony Wall, made special mention of how popular Christmas lunches were in 2017 and 2018. “Members should definitely book their tables early to avoid disappointment, because based on the popularity in previous years, we certainly expect there to be a very high demand again this year” Mr Wall said.

In 2018, the BDCC served over 5,000 Christmas lunches in the lead-up to the Christmas festivities.

#TeamDad Fathers Day 2019

It’s every Dad’s favourite day of the year (Apart from Grand Final Day, First Day of the Ashes – ok, lets call it one of Dad’s many favourites)

In June this year, the BDCC took out Western Australia’s Best Club Members Event for 2018 with it’s #TeamDad Fathers Day event at the Club Industries Awards for Excellence.

So, it’s no surprise that the Club is once again hosting it’s Award-Winning Father’s Day Event on Sunday, 1^st September as we celebrate #TeamDad 2.0

Kicking off the morning with a buffet breakfast, Members and Guests are certain to be entertained all day, with All-Day Dining and Live Music. This year, we challenge you to show off your cricket swing by hitting a six or be crowned the Footy Kicking Champion by landing the ball in the barrel to take out a share in thousands of dollars’ worth of amazing prizes!

We’ve also added a Bucking Bull to the fold, so get challenging the kids to the ultimate duel!

Our team of chefs guarantee Dad Favourites such as a 400g T-Bone Steak and a Mega-Mixed Grill to choose from throughout the day.

1980’s Party – 2019

80’s Fever descended upon Byford last Saturday, 27^th July as we travelled back in time at the Byford & Districts Country Club. Over 500 party-goers pulled out their legwarmers, spandex and fluoro creating an electric atmosphere throughout the evening.

Our resident DJ, DJ Matty J, spun the decade’s favourite tunes from 7pm till late. Who can resist classics from Michael Jackson, Cyndi Lauper, The Police and Queen anyway!

The venue was decorated from head-to-toe in all things 80’s, offering an eclectic style food menu, classic cocktails and the biggest retro candy station Byford has ever seen.

BDCC Food & Beverage Operations Manager Scott Farrell said he was extremely happy with the Clubs 3rd Annual 80’s Night. “It’s always great to see our Member go full retro for the night and really get behind the Clubs events’.

‘Our Club’s Staff really enjoy throwing exciting parties for our Members. Every event has a new twist, and exciting new gimmicks and we’re really proud to be continuing to provide an outlet for Members to let their hair down’ Mr Farrell added.

Bogan Bingo 2019

Have you ever been to a Half Game Show, Half Party?

That’s what Members of the Byford & Districts Country Club were treated to at the Club on Saturday, 15^th June 2019. Imagine all the fun of bingo and throw in some jokes, tributes and spontaneous air guitar competitions as we hosted the most hilarious night the BDCC has ever witnessed.

200 members and guests enjoyed a 4-course All Aussie meal, including Bogan favourites such as Beef Pies and Lamingtons. Guests were greeted with Emu Export and Goon on arrival to get everybody loosened up before the show began.

Bingo Callers, Shazza and Dazza, commanded the room from start to finish with huge confidence, charisma and quick wit keeping all guests on their toes. During the show, each bingo number prompted snippets of songs, jokes, group ‘shout outs’ and air guitar competitions which made the crowd the real stars of the show.

Club Operations Manager, Ray Carey, said he believed this was the perfect party to kick off The BDCC’s jam-packed winter events schedule. ‘It was something we have never tried before but will now be added as an annual event. We were amazed at everybody’s inner-bogan with flanenos and mullets being a huge hit. It was great to see such a great party atmosphere at our popular venue’.

Melbourne Cup 2019

Saddle up for the event that stops the nation and celebrate Melbourne Cup as our hugely popular Melbourne Cup Luncheon returns in 2019.

It’s time to dress to impress and celebrate with friends while our brilliant Chef’s put on a scrumptious 3 Course Buffet and a day not to be missed.

Seniors Walking Group

There’s a reason why walking is one of the most popular forms of activity in Australia. Walking helps to reduce stress, be more alert, have a healthier body and build strong relationships.

The Byford & Districts Country Club has teamed up with the Australian Heart Foundation to offer its Senior Members the opportunity to be more active and social within the Serpentine Jarrahdale community.

The Clubs Social Walking Group meets every Monday morning at 8am at the main entrance of the Club, hail, rain or shine! All BDCC members and members of the wider community are welcome to participate in this free initiative. The Club are happy to provide bottled water and sunscreen to all participants.

Spearheaded by Trish Paton, one of our Members Committee members, the group undertake local walking trails within walking distance and on a monthly basis trek further afield including a recent morning tea at the scenic Serpentine Falls and the rigorous walk at Champion Lakes.

The group now boasts over 20 active walkers, reaping the health and social benefits from the outset. Many of our walkers are seen at the Club every Monday enjoying new friendships, coffee & a well-deserved slice of cake.

Low Impact Exercise Classes

At the beginning of 2019, The Byford & Districts Country Club introduced one of it’s latest initiatives as part of the BDCC Lifestyle Program; Low Impact Exercise Classes.

Low-impact exercise is a type of exercise in which the amount of stress placed upon the joints of your knees, hips and ankles are relatively minimal. This type of exercise ensures that you can still participate in the cardiovascular exercise, without putting a high amount of weight on your joints.

Merri Harris, the well-known local fitness instructor and chiropractor, puts our Senior Members through their paces at 9am every Friday morning – emphasising the necessity to maintain and improve balance preventing falls and fractures in the later years.

‘Participants must be willing to be put out of their immediate comfort zone for the good of their health’, cites Merri.

This class is offered complimentary to all members of Byford & Districts Country Club.

Notice of 2019 AGM

Pursuant to the Constitution of the Byford & Districts Country Club Incorporated, I hereby notify Members that the Annual General Meeting of the Club is to be held at 10am on Saturday, 6th July 2019 at the Byford and Districts Country Club. Members who are intending to attend are requested to arrive by 9:30am to check in with our Administration Staff and sign the attendance register to avoid any delays to the scheduled starting time of the AGM .

In accordance with the Constitution of the Byford & Districts Country Club, the ordinary business of the AGM will be as follows:

1. To confirm the minutes of the Annual General Meeting held on the 23 June 2018;

2. To receive the Boards annual report on the Club’s activities during the preceding Financial Year;

3. To receive The Financial Statements of the Club for the preceding Financial Year presented under Part 5 of the Act as required as a tier 1 association;

4. To announce the results of the election of Board Members in accordance with Rule 12.2;

5. Moving of Special Resolution. “Adoption of the updated Constitution of the Byford & Districts Country Club Inc.” A copy of the proposed constitution can be viewed by Members HERE.

6. Any other business of which notice has been given in accordance with the Constitution of the Byford & Districts Country Club.

Nominations for the Board have now closed.

There were 4 positions to be contested and following a 30 day nomination process, the Board received 3 nominations. Members are advised that, In accordance with the Constitution of the Byford & Districts Country Club, no election shall be held as there are less nominees (3) than Vacant Positions (4). The Board shall determine, of the nominations received, those that are eligible to hold a position on the Board. Those eligible nominees shall be announced as elected to the Board at the AGM to be held on Saturday 6th July 2019.

Members are further advised that a Member may appoint an individual, who is a current Member of the Club, in writing to the Chief Executive Officer no less than Seven (7) Days prior to the Annual General Meeting as his or her proxy to vote or speak on his or her behalf at the Annual General Meeting. The appointment of a proxy must be in the prescribed proxy form and signed by the Member making the appointment.

2019 Board of Management Nominations Open

Pursuant to section 12.2 (a) of the Byford & Districts Country Club constitution, the Board hereby call for nominations for election to the Board.

In accordance with the Constitution of the Byford & Districts Country Club, there are 4 positions to be contested at the upcoming AGM.

The following positions are declared to be contested:

1 x Professional Board Member (3 years)

1 x Community Board Member (3 years)

1 x Professional Board Member (1 year) *

1 x Community Board Member (1 year) *

* Denotes positions to be filled through casual vacancy.

Fathers Day 2018

It was a day for all the Dads out there (and of course those who play the role of Dad) on Father’s Day last Sunday. The Byford & Districts Country Club once again pulled out all stops to throw down a Father’s Day like you’ve never seen before.

Once again, the weather really turned it on as hundreds of Dads, family in tow, descended upon the Club from mid-morning to take part in the BDCC’s #TeamDad Father’s Day events. With thousands of dollars up for Grabs all Day it was a day custom built for the dads.

BDCC commercial operations manager Ray Carey said that the club was inundated with interest for the event.

“We really did a few special and novel things on the day such as our footy barrel kick competition and our golf hole in one competition” he said.

“We took out part of the fence, set up some of our infamous barrels, that members will remember from many of our events, and handed over the footy. There were some ordinary kicks, some really close kicks and a many laughs were had. We really enjoyed putting on Father’s Day this year and can’t wait to get into next year’s event” he added.

Member Cam Wilson took out 1st Place, and walked away with $500, for being the first to kick the footy the required 40 metres and land it in the Barrel. Another member Adam Smith came in a hot second and cleaned up $250 for having a kick.

The Golf Swing was somewhat more challenging. “We didn’t think it would take as long as it did. In the end we had to alter the target to get a winner” food & beverage operations manager Scott Farrell said. Grant Peatling cleaned up $500 for closest to the pin for the day.

And as if that wasn’t enough, Father’s Day 2018, gave the Dads a chance to get back at the kids for all those early morning sports days. One by one kids were marched up to the Dunk Tank as Dads around the Club were warming up their throwing arms. Hit the Bulls eye and the kids went swimming. We call it pay back (although somehow a few Dads went in too).

With Live Music keeping the crowds entertained, #TeamDad Father’s day 2018 at the BDCC was certainly a unique experience, well enjoyed by all.
